Assembly Technician
The Assembly Technician is an essential and versatile member of the NSH USA manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for the disassembly, repair, reassembly, and quality validation of NSH USA’s reconditioned tooling service and must work independently under general supervision. This is a non-exempt, hourly position reporting directly to the Tooling Test Manager and will be based at our Sterling Heights, Michigan facility.
Essential Functions:
- Disassemble and inspect various small engine crankshaft tooling to identify damaged or worn parts
- Hand assembly of a variety of crankshaft tooling and components as outlined on drawings and work orders
- Ability to read, interpret, and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly instructions
- Operation of manual hand tools and power tools as required in assembly and validation work
- Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose issues during the tooling rebuild process
- Ensures that goals and expectations are met, and product is being completed on schedule
- Follow all health and safety regulations in the course of work; compliance with all OSHA standards
- Maintain a neat and organized workstation for safety and efficiency, 100% of the time
- Must professionally communicate and collaborate with other NSH USA team members and supervisors
- Ability to complete manufacturing documentation as required in the course of work
- Pick up and deliver tooling based on information provided in work orders or shippers
- Assist with shipping and receiving
- Perform any reasonable request, within qualifications, by Tooling Test Manager, necessary for the smooth, efficient operation of the factory and consistent production
- Assist with receiving and unloading freight both manually and with equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
- As part of the receiving process, check for damaged products, verify quantity and quality of order, and verify items received against purchase orders
- Assist with the packaging and shipping of various orders as needed
- Deliver and retrieve supplies to and from work or storage areas
- General material handling duties as required
- Responsible for the performance of above-mentioned duties with minimum supervision, as required, to the quality and safety standards acceptable by NSH USA Corporation
- Other duties as required within the job scope

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School diploma or equivalent; vocational education/training is preferred
- 1 to 3 years of experience within a manufacturing assembly position
- Must have clean driving record and possess unrestricted driver’s license
- Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings
- Ability to utilize measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
- High degree of manual dexterity and mechanical aptitude
- Comfort operating hand/power tools safety and efficiently
- Ability to utilize measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
- Ability to work overtime as assigned and commit to a flexible work schedule around manufacturing demand
- Ability to operate a computer and perform computer transactions accurately
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office software programs
- Quality focused and detail-oriented
- Team player with a positive communication style
- Ability to stand for long periods of time in performance of job functions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
