Niles-Simmons Chairman Hans J. Naumann Honored
Due to his many contributions to science and economics for the Free State of Saxony, the Chairman and CEO of Hegenscheidt and Niles-Simmons Industrieanlagen GmbH (both in Germany), Hans J. Naumann was appointed Honorary Professor by the Minister President of the Free State of Saxony, Prof. Dr. Georg Milbradt.
As published by the Saxonian Ministry, Minister President Milbradt presented the certificate during a ceremony which took place on May 13th, 2008 in Dresden. He underlined the great engagement and many achievements Naumann established for both the machine building industry and economy in Saxony. Naumann is one of the founders and President of the Competence Center for Machine Building in Chemnitz, Germany. In 1992, Naumann founded the Niles-Simmons Industrieanlagen GmbH in Chemnitz and expanded it into the worldwide operating NSH Group. Hegenscheidt-MFD of Erkelenz, Germany, and Simmons Machine Tool Corporation based in Albany, New York, are also part of the NSH Group. The group has more than 1,100 employees worldwide, group-wide sales of 200 Million Euros, and shares exports of 65%. In 2004, the entrepreneur Naumann received the Medal of Service (Verdienstorden) from the Free State of Saxony. The Technical University Chemnitz awarded him an honorary Doctorate in 2003. In 2001, he was honored by the German President Johannes Rau with the Bundesverdienst Kreuz (German Federal Service Cross).
