Machine Tool Remanufacturing

NSH USA has a long history of remanufacturing machine tools that began near the start of our company's history.

The concept of “Simmons Engineered Rebuilding”, where we remanufactured thousands of existing machines at a time when steel was not available for new machines, was novel during the 1940s and of great contribution to the USA’s World War II efforts (so much so that we were awarded a coveted Army-Navy E Award). Our knowledge and experience with the remanufacturing process is strong with our Stanray® TN-84C Wheel Truing Machines and Wheel Shop Machines.

Remanufactured machines start with an existing machine “core” which is then inspected and machined by skilled personnel to meet or exceed OEM tolerances. It is then engineered to accommodate modern materials and technologies like computer or CNC machine controls and updated safety features. This results in more livelihood from a dependable machine while taking advantage of contemporary manufacturing innovations.

And at a time when industry demands more sustainable manufacturing options, remanufacturing is in line with that direction.

Benefits

    • Tried and true design: Our legacy equipment supported manufacturing facilities for decades, and this process breathes new life into them to produce for years to come.
    • OEM dependability: Why work with a vendor that will spend time and money reverse engineering design decisions or part production? NSH USA is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for the complete Simmons, Stanray, Hegenscheidt, Niles, and Farrel railway machine tool product lines. Our extensive archive contains detailed drawings for those brands, which means no time is wasted or corners cut to meet OEM specifications.
    • Economical choice: Remanufactured machines cost less than new machines – and if you own a core for trade-in, there are even more cost savings possible. Don’t have a core? We maintain an inventory of core machines for you to choose from.
    • Sustainable manufacturing practices: The remanufacturing process reduces the amount of raw material and resources needed to start production of a machine tool. And if a sub-assembly is deemed in working order during the initial thorough evaluation, it is rebuilt utilizing new components known to be subject to wear. All of this is in accordance with NSH USA’s warranty on remanufactured machines – which is the same as our new machine tool warranty.
