Troy Riverfront P-TECH Students Tour Simmons Machine Tool Corporation
Last week, we gave a tour of the facility to Troy high school students enrolled in the P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) program. Simmons is proud to be a part of this educational initiative, which provides select high school students with the skills they will need to enter the Capital Region’s most in-demand fields such as advanced manufacturing, technology, and biotechnology.
The students spent the morning learning about Simmons, our railway machine tools, and the capabilities of our facility. Our staff will act as mentors to the P-TECH students, and there will be opportunities in the future for job shadowing and internships.
For more on the program, please visit their website.
Troy Riverfront P-TECH is a partnership of Troy City Schools, Questar III BOCES, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC), the Center for Economic Growth (CEG), GE Healthcare, Simmons Machine Tool Corporation, and Regeneron.
