Electrical Engineer

Job Summary:

The Electrical Engineer position works within an engineering team to design and develop electrical systems and/or components for high quality, state of the art CNC precision machine tools and related equipment. This position is responsible for the related design analysis, detailed documentation, and coordination with operations personnel to produce the finished products. The Electrical Engineer has the ability to apply their knowledge in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control systems within a manufacturing company and an exciting, growing industry!

Essential Functions:

  • Design and document electrical systems in accordance with machine tool standards and customer-specific requirements
  • Construct electrical drawings using AutoCAD (Electrical preferred)
  • Define all electrical components and bills of materials within the ERP system
  • Develop cost estimates for projects and ensure conformance to project budgets
  • Find and apply new technologies and suitable solutions to advance equipment performance, improve manufacturability and assembly, and reduce cost and lead time
  • Conduct electrical tests and troubleshoot equipment
  • Participate in assembly at new product introductions
  • Participate in in-house machine start-up, testing, troubleshooting, and sign-off
  • Support service and maintenance of installed equipment
  • Interface with various disciplines including Control Systems and Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Service
  • Occasional travel (domestic and international) may be required
  • Other duties as required by Engineering Management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be a person of integrity and be driven to continuous improvement
  • Very strong attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering required; 3-5 years related experience in an industrial environment preferred
  • Experience in design, repair, and analysis of electrical/electronic systems
  • Must have the ability to work to meet strict deadlines
  • Respond to unforeseen issues and challenges
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills

Salary Range: $80,000 – $110,000 per year
